Wake beat Clemson 96-88. The Wake defense was horrible in the first half, but passable in the 2nd. Johnson carried everyone in the 2nd half. People talk about Teague a lot but James Johnson is the key to this team’s postseason success. He can hit shots, take anyone off the dribble, and rebounds well.
Funny comment from Teague after the game:
“Everything we do is competitive,” Teague said. “Even when it comes to talking about who has the prettiest girlfriend and things like that. We just have a competitive group of guys.”
In other news, Duke lost to UNC, so Wake locks up the #2 seed for the ACC tourney. Bracket:

I’m not blaming the refs for the loss. I’ll blame our perimeter D and some poor decisions by Dino instead. But the reffing was questionable at best. As Brahsome puts it, Elliot Williams needed a passport for all the travelling he did. Video:
Wake predictably went down about 31 seconds after being ranked #1 in NCAAB. VTech deserves credit for taking good shots and hitting them. I don’t understand Guadio’s strategy in running the offense through Ish, trying to get points from wing play. Yes Wake was able to create some easy buckets thanks to dribble penetration, but our bigs are far superior to VTech’s…. we should have been pounding it in to Aminu (and Woods once Chas was out) to generate points and more fouls. Teague is great but Wake can’t depend on him getting 30 a night and hitting every big shot.
First 2 episodes of new season of Lost were on last night. I like how Lost moves more quickly now — my early guess for this season is that the first chunk of the season focuses on getting the Oceanic 6 back together and to the island, rather than them on the island itself. I also think over time we will see that Ben does have bad intentions for everyone after all, and that Widmore will come more into the center (not necessarily “good”) as we see what his true desires for the island are. I also think we’re going to see more of what every special person has to contribute — i.e. Desmond with the flashes, Farraday with the time travelling, Locke with the island love, and Hurley with the … oh screw it he’s still worthless. Anyways, good start to the season in my opinion.
