Here is another scary chart, this time from Simon Hunt:
This chart shows the Leading Economic Indicators worldwide — the LEI is essentially an index of economic indicators leading out 6 months from now. While the US is certainly hurting, look how bad China and Russia look. It is reported that China lost 20,000,000 jobs last quarter. Makes our unemployment situation seem less dire.

Everyone is saying it’s a great time to buy stocks. However, at least according to one measure, stocks are still relatively overvalued:
Notice the spikes in value relative to GNP right before the great depression and tech bust.

A Consumerist reader found a great toy. When you get laid off and start spending all day at the track betting on the ponies and yankin on the one arm bandits, no need to leave Junior home alone.
