I’ve let last weekends debacle finally set in, and after clearing my head a little, I still don’t see how the Redskins FO still doesn’t make significant changes in the offseason. I don’t think Zorn will be fired, despite feeling “like the worst coach in America. . . ” or Colt Brennan will be allowed to compete for the starting job, or anything nuts like that. I think what will happen is Defensive Coordinator Greg Blache will retire, as will Running Game Coordinator/Off Line Coach Joe Bugel. Zorn will bring in his own DC and/or OC, and relinquish some of those duties. There will be other changes in assistants staff as well. He gets one more year to work with and development Campbell. At least that’s what I hope. I predicted before the season that the Skins would finish 8-8 or 9-7 and amazingly it looks like that is the case.
Michael Wilbon has a pretty good article about Skins fans needing to look at the big picture. Its just tough to do so after a 6-2 start for sure. The reality is the Skins this year aren’t nearly as good as the 6-2 start indicated, and aren’t quite as bad as the 7-7 indicates now.

Tylenol Taxis are coming to DC from Dec 15-21. I wonder if it will be actually possible to use these cabs. Past “free cabs” promotions like sober ride on Halloween are in such high demand that it is virtually impossible to use. Oh well, as long as it hurts the business of DC cabs I’m fine. These are the same people who protested meters in cabs and favored the rediculous f-ed up zone system.

The DC council passed emergency legislation allowing bars and clubs to serve alcohol until 5am from Aug 17-20. As if there weren’t enough time to drink at bars as it is now. I’ll have to try going out one night at 2am just to see the absurdity.
In other news, Arlington is still lame and shuts down by 130am.

A really solid win for the deacs. I finally got to watch all of this one. James Johnson pretty much drove and scored at will when he wanted to, including one highlight real dunk over some poor Hoosier guard. Wake looks good, and I’m very optimistic about the season, but I worry they have the ability to come from behind if we don’t lead from the get go. No viable 3 point threat is concerning. Next up: 2 (hopefully) easy home games and then winter break, before we travel to BYU in early January.

Gotta love this story: Dallas Stars forward Sean Avery used to date Elisha Cuthbert, of 24 and girl next door fame. Apparently he doesn’t like the fact that she has been seeing other players recently… he had this to say:
“I’m really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada,” the Ontario native said. “I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about, but enjoy the game tonight.”
Elisha is now dating Dion Phaneuf, who plays for Calgary. I wouldn’t want to be Avery. Jack Bauer is gonna be pissed when he hears what’s being said about his daughter.
This all still pales in comparison to the Iowa lady hawkeye who had sex with a stranger in the bathroom while her husband waited in the stands.
